Previewing a Captivate File

Having made all of your changes, you will most likely want to see the fruits of your labor. Here’s how:

  1. Save the SWF file by selecting File > Save As.
  2. Click and hold the Preview button on the main toolbar to open your preview options (see Figure 14).

  3. Select Movie. A progress dialog box appears that informs you which slides are being generated. When it finishes, the SWF file starts to play in the Preview window (see Figure 15).

  4. If you see an error, click the Edit button. The currently playing slide will open in the Edit view.
  5. Click the Close Preview button to close the preview and return to the Edit View panel.

Tip: If you want to preview a slide’s Timeline only, press F3 to see the timing changes you have made.
