Connect your desktop speakers to your computer.

Most computer sound cards have three, 1/8 inch miniplug ports for audio, plus a MIDI port. Plug the speakers’ cable into your sound card’s Line Out port. (If your speakers do not have a miniplug connector, you need an adapter.)

The next two steps address common sound cards, which have separate Line In and Mic In ports. If your sound card has only one input port, refer to the card’s documentation to complete steps 2 and 3.
