Set the recording level.
In Adobe Audition’s Edit View, double-click the Level Meters to turn them on, and then play something on the turntable, cassette deck, or microphone. Using the Line In or Mic In slider in the Recording Control window, adjust the input level so the Level Meters peak at around -2 or -3 dB. Then double-click the Level Meters to turn them off.
