The Orb

This is one of those tutorials that you just gotta know when you start photoshop. Transform one of the basic shapes, a circle, into an orb that looks so realistic, you can almost touch it!

Learn how to create the infamous Orb!

  • Step 1 Open up a new document and use the Elliptical Marquee-Tool to create an orb;

    Note:IF YOU HOLD DOWN SHIFT WHILE MAKING THE SELECTION, YOU’LL GET THE CHANCE TO GET A PERFECTLY ROUND ORB.

  • Step 2 Fill the ball with a random color ON A NEW LAYER, and add these layer-styles to it!

  • Step 3 If you did it good, you’ll end up with something like me…
    You can also choose to add different colors and play with the settings a little bit!
