Click on the right mouse’s button on the sphere’s layer (on the layers’ panel).
Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:

Select the last instrument to draw a kind of flare on the sphere’s surface, correcting the flare’s shape with
Free Transform option.
Fill 0% on the layers.
