The layer’s parameters:
Fill 0% on the layers:
Blending Options>Gradient Overlay

Make a copy of the recently made layer and select the Free Transform option for turning over the copy and applying different parameters. The flare’s position should be corrected with the Move Tool (V), opening simultaneously the here shown palette:

    This is beautiful. I am doing mostly buttons & icons at the moments. Proud to be the first one to comment on this. I liked how every step is so easy and yet gives it a complex look. thank you.
