Retro Lighting – Ford Mustang
September 2nd, 2007 by ART-D Posted in Adobe Photoshop, Photo Editing

Make five copies of the last made layer and apply for each copy the Free Transform option and the Convert Point Tool, placing the copied arrows as it is presented next picture. The copies have these colors: red – #FD2B06, dark-red – #981819, green one – #ACE208, yellow – #FEEC00 and blue – light – #71CFD7

Create a new layer now and click on the bottom of the layers’ palette on the button entitled Create new fill or adjustment layer and select the Hue/Saturation option.

Find in Internet now a picture of a “Mustang” auto, one that would look as this one from below:

Cut out the picture and turn it around on 180 degrees with the Free Transform option and place it the way it is shown below:

Mark out the car’s layer, applying to it the next selection: Filter>Filter Gallery>Artistic>Cutout

We need to apply for this layer also Blending Options>Stroke

Im sorry, but you are really bad at explaining your tutorial. I am new to photoshop, and everywhere i look, they always think that i am a pro at it or something. I like your technique, but you cannot explain it at all, and i am not getting the same results as you are. explain things better please…need i say it again?

The overall images looks pretty good here, but not only is that not a Mustang, it’s not even a Ford. That is a ’53 Chevy Coupe.

Hi, using CS5 and my photoshop only has ‘Registration Target 1′.. which doesn;t help at all, so I don’t even have the shape needed.. Is there a download I can get so I can have it? Cause I am doing a design course and I LOVE retro, this is an effect I would love to use…
thanks
