Valentine’s day card

Learn how to design the background of heart shape forms for Valentine’s Day.
Final Image Preview

Start working by creating a new file (File>New) of 1280×1024 px and 72 dpi. Then applying the Rectangle Tool (U), it’s possible to represent the background of the picture to be.

Set for the made layer the next demonstrated parameters by clicking on this layer on the layers’ panel: Fill 0% Blending Options>Gradient Overlay

Gradient’s parameters:


Next we’ll use the Rectangle Tool (U), to draw a horizontal line:

The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Gradient Overlay

Gradient’s parameters:


Using the same tool, try to make another line above the previous made one:

The parameters are the same with the previous line’s parameters:

Make a copy of the last made layer and choose the Free Transform selection to place the copy the same way from below:

Using the Custom Shape Tool (U), try to draw a heart, which must be inclined a little with Free Transform option.


The layer’s parameters: Fill 0%
Blending Options>Gradient Overlay

Gradient’s parameters:

Blending Options>Stroke

Gradient’s parameters:


Applying the Ellipse Tool (U), we need to represent a highlight on the heart element. Firstly represent the basis and then keep pressed Alt button while cutting the unnecessary elements with the same tool.

The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Gradient Overlay

I get up to the point where I need to put the highlight on the heart, but I can’t get it to work.

??? Try to represent a highlight on the heart, choosing for this operation the Custom Shape Tool (U). Then press Alt button while applying the Pen Tool (P) and the Convert Point Tool to represent a kind of zone which must be cut out later. i dont understand this part of it… plz help me out…

hi i download brushes but how to open in photoshop
I save it in program/photoshop/preset/brushes
but it is not showing up when i need it in brush option in photoshop.
