Start working by creating a new document (Ctrl+N) in Adobe Photoshop with the size 1000px by 1000px (RGB color mode) at a resolution of 72 pixels/inch. Use the Paint Bucket Tool (G) to fill with black color the new background layer.

Create a new layer and select the Soft Round brush of #323538 color from Brush Tool (B).

Use this brush to paint on the canvas as shown:

Set the Blending mode for this layer to Luminosity.

On the next new layer we’ll paint on the canvas with the same Soft Round brush with #17548E color.

Choose the Pen Tool (P), set the drawing mode on Shape Layers in Options bar and draw the next shape as shown to represent a small heart of the color #E81F25.

Click on Add a layer style icon from bottom part of the Layers panel and select Inner Shadow.

We’ve got the next result:

Make a copy of the recently made layer, containing the heart and choose the Free Transform (Ctrl+T) command to change the copy’s sizes, placing it the same way from below:

Get back to the background layer. Create a new layer and select the Soft Round brush.

Use this brush to paint the background behind the heart with the color #B1A976. Place the layer under the hearts’ layers.

Insert the mask on the same layer by choosing Add layer mask on the bottom part of the Layers panel and choose the Soft Round brush of black color. Paint in the mask using this brush to hide the layer content on right side as on the picture below it is demonstrated.

Create a new layer and select the Soft Round brush.

Use this brush to paint the background behind the hearts again. The brush have white color. Place the layer under the hearts’ layers.

Insert the mask on the layer the same way we did before (Add layer mask) and select the Soft Round brush of black color applied before to hide the layer content on right side as it is shown on the picture below.

Set the Blending mode for this layer to Overlay.

Create a new layer again and select the Soft Round brush.

Use this brush to paint the background with #FFF799 color. Place the layer under the layers containing the hearts.

Then we’ll add many small circles. In this case on a new layer we’ll select the Hard Round of white color (set Opacity to 15% in Options bar).

Use this brush to add many small circles as shown. The layer will be situated under the layers containing the hearts shapes.

Set the Blending mode for this layer to Overlay.

Create another new layer and select the Soft Round brush.

Use this brush to paint the background on the hearts’ left side. The brush have #FFAA25 color (Opacity – 5%). Place the layer under the hearts’ ones.

Set the Blending mode for this layer to Darken.
