How to create Abstract Colorful Valentine’s Day Card with Beautiful shiny hearts in Photoshop CS5

Create another new layer and paint again with the Soft Round brush. The brush is mentioned in the previous example. The brush’s color is #060404. The layer will be situated under the layer containing the smaller heart.

Next we’ll create a new layer again and apply the same method we did for the bigger heart. Use the Soft Round brush to paint the middle part and then erase with the Eraser Tool (E) unnecessary content on the layer. The brush’s color is #891316.

Paint the bottom part of the smaller heart with #060606 color.

Hold down Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) and click between layers in the Layers panel to create a clipping mask.

We’ve got the next result:

Insert the mask on the same layer by choosing Add layer mask on the bottom part of the Layers panel and choose the Soft Round brush of black color (set Opacity to 80% in Options bar).

Paint in the mask using this brush to hide unnecessary shadow on the bottom part of the heart.

Create a new layer and select here the Soft Round brush.

USe this brush to paint the hearts’ right half. The brush’s color is #EB7B2F.

Create a new layer and select again the Soft Round brush to paint in white (Opacity – 20%) the hearts’ surface.

We’ve got the next result:

Set Fill to 77% for this layer and change the Blending mode to Overlay.

Insert the message text for greeting card. Select the Horizontal Type tool (T). Select a font, size and color in the Character panel.

Click in the canvas and type ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’. Press Enter to apply the text.

Create a new layer and select again the Soft Round brush of white color to represent many small circles.

We’ve got the next result:

Next step we’ll download set of brushes for Adobe Photoshop, named: light_brushes_2. Copy the brushes file to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop X\Presets\Brushes folder (Adobe Photoshop X been your version of Photoshop).

Create a new layer and load the downloaded brushes, select the next brush from light_brushes_2 set:

Use this brush to add shining effect on the circles of white color.

Create a new layer again and select on it the Soft Round brush to paint the canvas with #FFF89A color (Opacity – 10%).

We’ve got the next result:

Set the Blending mode for this layer to Overlay.

Click Create new fill or adjustment layer from bottom part of the Layers panel and click to Curves to adjust the curve shape as shown to make a little color corrections.
