Heart health
In this tutorial we will work with some effects on heart image.
I’m going to take a photo and to adjust it, maybe change some shapes and so on.
Here is my initial photo:
The idea of all this is to try to make the heart in the hand more expressive.
So first you got to do is to create a new layer to paint and text some effects on.
For more flexibility I want to separate the hart from other image and the way you can make this is to use quick mask for more precise way or to use a magic wand tool (on this one).
Here is the heart covered in quick mask.
Exit quick mask to copy the selected area into a new layer.
First thing I want to do to separate the heart from the rest of the image is to adjust the color of the heart.
Then I will take one of my twirl brushes and give the heart some kind of pattern.
Here we go – something like this.
Create another layer and the same brush thing. As the brush dynamics is set to pen pressure. Note that is has to be on the separate layer.
Here is this layer with other layer turned off, so you could see the effect itself.
Now I will apply some layer styles to the layer that stays on the very top of the layer box.
Here are the layer styles settings:
Result:
I’ve also create a layer underneath the very top one and did a little brush work with color similar to background – see the layer box.
I’ve lowered the fill of the top one too: see the layer box.
Now I will turn off all the paint layers and make a new one, on the top. Make several dots: I use a dot brush tip.
Apply layer stiles to the curves:
I’ve also painter with red overlay color on the top of the heart to expose that reds:
And even more reds:
The final part will be color balancing the colors on the whole image:
Tnx for reading and see you next time.
