Recognize text using OCRWhile this feature has been around for a while, it has been streamlined and improved for both Mac and Windows users to more easily convert scanned text and graphics into formatted text and graphics in an Adobe PDF file. Acrobat 7.0 will also let you convert to a searchable image file that has the exact information untouched and intact. This format is coupled with Acrobat 7.0 support for the new PDF/A archive standard.

This is a great way to archive student work for portfolio or record keeping while eliminating physical file storage headaches. This is accomplished directly through your scanner’s interface or through the conversion of a TIFF image via the built-in Acrobat Capture utility. Acrobat’s built-in dictionaries interpret a wide range of fonts and words, making it easier than ever to re-purpose your digital content.
